This is for you if…

  • You finished the Product Builder workshop (or already have a live, AI-built product) and now have more ideas than build time
  • You want a repeatable way to choose what's next — not a gut call you can't defend to a stakeholder
  • You'd rather leave with an installable tool than a one-off prompt you'll never reuse

About this workshop

Overview

You have a working MVP and more feature ideas than you know what to do with. Building got 10x faster; choosing what to build didn't. This session hands you the missing piece — roadmap-rice-prioritizer, a packaged Claude skill you install once and point at any project. The skill reads a real codebase and its product docs, drafts a candidate feature list grouped by what's actually shipped, what's half-built, and what's only ever been mentioned — and gets your sign-off on that list before it scores anything. Then it asks you a small batch of plain-language questions ("who does this help, and how often?", "what changes if it works?", "how sure are you?") instead of demanding raw Reach/Impact/Confidence numbers, and does the translation itself. We watch it run live on a real project, and the punchline lands on screen: the most boring item on the list — an admin view nobody asked for — outranks the flashy feature, because it's the only way to check the numbers the founder's own PRD says matter. Then it's your turn: bring the one feature you're genuinely torn about, and we'll run the questions on it live. You leave with the tool and a first pass at your own roadmap.

Hook & Framing

More ideas than you can build

  • →Where the "what do I build next" pile comes from
  • →From a one-off demo prompt to a packaged, installable skill
  • →Round the room: what everyone brought, and what they're stuck choosing between

Why Choosing Didn't Get Faster

RICE as a lightweight lens

  • →Building got 10x faster — prioritizing didn't
  • →RICE in plain terms: Reach, Impact, Confidence, Effort
  • →The design choice behind the skill: it does the code-reading and the math, but never invents your numbers
  • →When RICE is the wrong lens — and what to reach for instead

Live Demo: The Skill on a Real Codebase

From candidate list to ranked roadmap

  • →Reading the README, the product docs and the actual code — what's really shipped vs. what's only described
  • →Approving the candidate list live: half-built, mentioned-but-never-started, and one idea the skill found on its own
  • →Plain-language questions instead of raw RICE numbers — and how the skill translates the answers
  • →The output: ranked RICE table, one-line rationale per feature, and a Now/Next/Later build order
  • →The punchline: why the boring admin view outranks the flashy feature — and why the exciting bets land last
  • →Under the hood: how the skill is built, so you can bend it to your own process

Your Turn: Run It on Your Own Project

Install the skill and score the feature you're torn about

  • →Install roadmap-rice-prioritizer and point it at your own codebase
  • →Review the candidate list it drafts for you — and correct what it got wrong
  • →Answer the plain-language questions in your own words, with help on the ones you're unsure about
  • →Read your own ranked roadmap — and pressure-test the top item out loud

Q&A & Close

Take the skill home

  • →Open Q&A
  • →Defending your ranking to a stakeholder who wanted the flashy feature
  • →What to do with your #1 item: turning a priority back into a spec
